International Women Riders Congress and FestivalAugust 11 - 15, 2010 - Deerhurst Resort, Huntsville Ontario CanadaSeminar: Helmet SafetySponsored by Arai CanadaThe session begins with a clear definition of the function of a helmet, including a description of each helmet component, a discussion of its role and what occurs during an impact. Following that, each component will be discussed and physically demonstrated using a helmet cutaway. Reference will be made to other materials used in the industry for each component, and their effectiveness. Finally, proper fitting procedures will be demonstrated. Biography: Bob McCoppin
Bob has worn many helmets over the years and gained expertise through both his professional career and the 39 years he has been riding on and off-road motorcycles. He has covered a lot of kilometers riding across Canada and exploring what the country has to offer. He is also a racer in both off-road and motocross competition through the CMRC (Canadian Motosport Racing Corporation). When he’s not racing, his interests range from a naked street bike to sport bike, sport touring and on/off road adventures on his dualsport. Bob’s work with Fullbore Marketing and Arai Canada for the past 10 years has enabled him to represent Arai at all MMIC (Motorcycle and Moped Industry Council) shows, educating riders on helmet safety and demonstrating how to properly fit your helmet. His motto is that an educated consumer is a safe rider. Prior to working for Arai, Bob was in the medical diagnostics industry.
